The Delhi government has set up a two-member commission to probe into instances of alleged child sexual abuse at Arya Orphanage,an unrecognised childrens home in Daryaganj. The panel will present its report within a month.
The commission,comprising retired IAS officers Geeta Sagar and Janak Juneja,has been set up under Section 3 of the Commission of Inquiry Act-1954. Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has asked the commission to submit a detailed report with suggestions that would help prevent such incidents in the future.
The panel will also look into the functioning of five childrens homes in Delhi the Arya Bal Grih (Daryaganj),the Arya Kanya Sadan (Daryaganj),Chhatrawas Chandra Arya Vidya Mandir (East Of Kailash),Chandra Arya Vidyalaya (East Of Kailash) and Arya Anathalaya (Daryaganj).
