The Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed the arrest of Deeksha Puri,mother of Shivraj Puri who is the prime accused in the multi-crore Citibank fraud.

Citi fraud: Puri’s mother gets anticipatory bailCHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed the arrest of Deeksha Puri,mother of Shivraj Puri who is the prime accused in the multi-crore Citibank fraud. The court stay on Deeksha’s arrest,till March-end,came subject to her joining the probe. Her husband Raghuraj Puri,meanwhile,withdrew his anticipatory bail with the liberty to surrender before a lower court or the investigating agency. Allowing Deeksha’s anticipatory bail,the High Court also noted the “unscientific” approach adopted by the investigating agency.

Thieves break into Pandher house,steal AC
Noida: Thieves broke into the house of Noida businessman Moninder Singh Pandher — accused in the Nithari killings case — and stole an air-conditioner and some other items,police said on Sunday. “The theft took place on Saturday night at his D-5 Sector 31 house,” said B K Srivastava,Deputy Superintendent of Police (Noida). An air-conditioner and some small items were found missing,he said. The house was sealed after the recovery of remains of several children from a drain in its backyard in 2006.

Four get life terms for honour killing
New delhi: A city court has sentenced four men to life for lynching the brother of a man who had eloped with and married a girl from one of their families in 2007. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the convicts — Rajesh (20),Kartar (25),Ram Kishan (33) and Pawan (24).
