The observation was made in a runaway couple’s case where the boy was not of legally marriageable age. The couple got married in Panchkula on September 30. The girl is 18 years and one-month-old but the boy is only of 20 years age.
The Union Ministry of Law and Justice in a notification said, “The President is pleased to appoint Justice Rajeev Sharma, the senior-most judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, to perform the duties of the office of chief justice with effect from the date Justice Krishna Murari relinquishes the charge.”
The retired Inspector, who is originally from Himachal Pradesh’s Una district, had been denied reimbursement on account of the fact that he did not possess a valid Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) token card at the time of treatment.
The order has been passed in a case where the court has taken note of the fact that fee bills have not been paid for months and years together by departments of the central government, Punjab and Haryana and the UT Administration.
"They are patients and not inmates. This is a neurological problem," observed the division bench as it emphasised on the need to protect the next generation from the menace of drug abuse and have a "Tagda Punjab" instead of "Udta Punjab".
