Infants body found near govt hospital
New Delhi: The body of a new-born baby was found near a drain close to a hospital in Northeast Delhi on Sunday The body of the infant was lying near a drain close to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, a police official said. A passer-by spotted the body in the morning and informed the police. The police immediately took her to the hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival, he added. The matter is being probed further.
Unrecognised institute to pay compensation to student
New Delhi: Unrecognised educational institutions have come under criticism from a consumer court for causing trauma to students by misleading them through advertisements. It is beyond imagination how much trauma must have been caused to the students who lost two precious years,apart from the loss of money, the Delhi District Consumer Forum said,ordering West Delhi-based Indian Institute of Aeronautics to refund the fee besides paying compensation of Rs 75,000 to student Vaibhav Saxena. Saxena had taken admission at the institute in 2004 but withdrew after a notification that the institute was not recognised under the provisions of UGC and DEC.
3 cops injured as PCR van overturns
NEW DELHI: A policeman fractured his finger and two others received minor bruises after their PCR van collided with a divider in Dwarka Sector-14 on Saturday morning. One of the cops then called up another PCR van,which came to their help. The police said no case was registered. One of the vehicles tyres burst and the driver was not able to control the vehicle. It then hit a divider which led to the van turning turtle, a police officer said.
