Chandigarh,based artist Shiv Singh has been selected for the Face of India award 2008 by the Foundation of Art,Culture and Education (FAC INDIA).

Chandigarh,based artist Shiv Singh has been selected for the Face of India award 2008 by the Foundation of Art,Culture and Education (FAC INDIA). In a function to be held by the end of this month,an art book by Singh will also be released by the organisation. “It feels good every time your work is appreciated through an award. Though honours don’t change a person but they encourage you to work more and harder,” says the 70-year-old award-winning artist. One of the most versatile artists of the country,Singh’s works range from sculptures,paintings,drawing,Tantric art,furniture design et al. Though sculpture is his primary domain of creativity,he plays with different materials. Even the process receives a touch of his passion for versatility,and the outcome is also a subject matter with a brand new perspective. Singh has held various shows in countries like Sweden,Germany,England,Scotland,Denmark. Among other laurels,Singh was also awarded the prestigious Lalit Kala Academy National Award.
