Chandigarh: The Haryana Roadways has launched its new intra-state Volvo/Mercedes Benz bus service from Chandigarh to Yamuna Nagar,Rewari,Rohtak and Hissar from September 1. It claims to benefit the people of various cities in Haryana like Ambala,Mullana,Jagadhari,Yamuna Nagar,Pipli (Kurukshetra),Karnal,Panipat,Gohana,Rohtak,Rewari,Pehowa,Kaithal,Narwana,Barwala and Hissar.

33-year-old killed

in accident

Chandigarh: A 33-year-old man died on Saturday night after being hit by a vehicle near colony number 5 at the dividing road of Sector 44 and 45. Police,after being informed,took him to a hospital,where he was declared brought dead. The deceased,identified as Dinesh,was a resident of Colony number 5 and was working as a security guard at a private security company. A case has been registered under different sections of IPC at Sector 34 police station.

Complaint lodged for two missing children

Chandigarh: A man filed a complaint for his two missing sons,aged 14 and 15,at the Manimajra police station. The minors,students of Government School,Motor Market,have been missing since August 24.

Cops felicitated

for good work

Chandigarh: From the 146 police beats in the UT,the Sector 27-D beat was chosen as the best in a survey conducted by the Chandigarh Senior Citizen Association. In a programme organised by the CSCA at Tagore Theatre on Sunday,police personnel and their families were felicitated. Sukhwinder Singh,in-charge for all the beats was also honoured for his services.
