Man acquitted in attempt to murder case

A local court on Wednesday acquitted a man,who had been accused of attempting to kill his wife,last year.

A local court on Wednesday acquitted a man,who had been accused of attempting to kill his wife,last year.

The prosecution had accused Mahinder,a resident of Nehru Colony,Sector 52,of hitting his wife Poonam with a sharp-edged-weapon which had caused her to fall unconscious.

He was also accused of trying to strangulate her with a dupatta.

The two had married in 1999.

The defence,however,argued in court that Mahinder had taken his wife to the hospital.

Moreover,the case mentioned that Poonam had received injuries on her head.

The defence pointed out that the medical report stated that Poonam had injuries on stomach.

Defence had further argued in court that the no weapon or the dupatta was recovered from the spot by the police.

The local court acquitted Mahinder on Wednesday.
