There was a time when Nazir Hoosein,the father of rallying in India,had fought hard to introduce the thrill of rallies in India. Since then,car rallies in India has crossed number of obstructions. So much so that this year we are seeing not just one but five rallies in the season. Here is a sneak preview of each.

The Rally of The Moghul Road:The first edition of the rally is set up in the mountains of Jammu & Kashmir and is going to be the first national rally in the state. The rally is being organised by Himlayan Motorsports Association and sponsored by J&K Tourism. There are two versions Enduro & Xtreme. Enduro is Time Speed Distance(TSD) rally while Xtreme is a Stage rally. But,the interesting part of the rally is that just 4×4 vehicles can compete in either of the version. The Monsoon Ride:It is set up in the beautiful Aravali hills in Rajasthan. The three day event will cover 400 kilometres,starting in Jaipur and culminating there as well. The event will be run for four wheerlers and two wheelers. When: August 1 Where: Jaipur Fee: Two Wheeler: Rs. 1750 & Four Wheeler: Rs. 3000. Total Price Money: Rs. 60,000. Extreme Challenge Rally:The first edition of the rally is being conducting by Motor Sport Association in Jaipur. The central place for the rally will be Jaipur. When: July and 4. Where: Jaipur Fee: Two wheeler: Rs. 3500 & Four wheeler: Rs. 8,500

The Himalyan Dash:It is not a rally nor a race but a whole new driving experience with flexible itinerary and relaxed driving. The complete rally route has been designed in such a manner that one can enjoy the scenic beauties. This luxurius drive will start with a pre-event party at Hotel The Lalit in New Delhi and will conclude at The Lalit The Grand at Srinagar. Raid-De-Himalaya:The old & famous rally of the Himalayas will run its 12 th edition this year. The xtreme version of the rally on a scale of 1 to 10 would rate an 9 in terms of difficulty this year. With the backdrop of Himalayas,RDH is one such rally that you should try in your life.
