After hosting game shows like Tol Mol Ke Bol and Deal Ya No Deal, actor R Madhavan returns to the small screen on Imagine’s all-new game show,Big Money. Produced by Siddharth Basu’s Synergy Films, the quiz show will have families competing for a prize of Rs one crore. “I’ve been a fan of Basu’s work, and when I got a chance to do his show,I jumped right in,” says Madhavan who has just wrapped up work on the forthcoming Hindi romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu and is headed south for a Tamil film.

“Big Money is not a reality game show. It’s a quiz show based on questions on the medium of television,” says Madhavan, busy brushing up information about TV,which he refuses to dismiss as an idiot box. “Television is a reliable companion for individuals that provides information, entertainment and a wide range of emotions,” he says.

A TV host or anchor should be honest and sincere in his approach,he adds. “Do not be too dramatic. I hate tear-jerkers and sob stories. Personally,I wouldn’t want to dwell too much on these things,” he says. Imagine will reveal the regulations and format of the game show that hits television this July. Stay tuned.
