No promos,no teasers,no flashy marketing gimmicks,no pre-film interactions, and no theatre release. This one is a straight shoot and sell,on a DVD. A laugh riot, director Manmohan Singh took out time and released Punjabi film Meri V Sun Lo at Press Club today. What’s it all about? Well,if we keep the technicalities and presentation aside, then the concept is a great one – a satire on the system, the ironies its riddled with and the interesting oxy-morons it lives with. A DH1 initiative,“the movie is an apt remark on today’s world that presents hilarious, yet thoughtful situation every moment. There is a need for such cinema, which not only entertains but puts across a strong message,” Manmohan.

Produced by Darshan Aulakh Productions in collaboration with DS Nijjar, the film’s been directed by Rahul Juneja, and stars Vakila Mann and Mukesh Gidderbaha in lead roles. “From piracy to obesity to TV serials, this hour-long film covers all issues,” tells Aulakh. Besides acting in the movie,Vakila has given the playback for the title song ‘Meri V Sun Lo’. Also, the film has revived the tradition of boliyan. Hilarious incidents based on real life of villagers, potshots at politics and elections, digs at piracy, the film covers it all. So,if you’re looking for some hardcore Punjabi fun,buy the DVD!
