Leaders of Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee paid homage to father of the nation M K Gandhi and the second Prime Minister of the country Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries. Addressing the gathering President CTCC B B Bahl commemorated Mahatma Gandhi for his tenets of non-violence and truth and for stressing upon importance of national cleaning and hygiene.

Medical camp held

More than 400 patients were examined at the free medical camp organised by the Pharmaceutical Cell and District Number 1 of Bharatiya Janata Party. The camp was held on the occasion of Senior Citizen Day at Gurdwara Guru Singh Sabha,Sector 19-D. Former Union Minister Harmohan Dhawan inaugurated the camp. Free haemoglobin,bone mineral density,blood sugar and diabetic neuropathy tests were conducted.

India has strongly condemned Pakistan’s recent military actions along the Afghan border, accusing Islamabad of sheltering and sponsoring terrorist organisations amid escalating tensions between the two neighbours. At a press briefing on Thursday, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal also underlined New Delhi’s support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty and independence.
