CHANDIGARH: Madhu Bahl,principal of KBDAV Senior Secondary Public School,Sector 7 and Dr GP Pal,physical education teacher (PET) of Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 20,have been elected unanimously as the president and general secretary,respectively,of Chandigarh North District Netball Association which is affiliated to Netball Association of Chandigarh,during the annual general meeting of the association held at school on September 26. Himal,Vohra take lead
CHANDIGARH: Himal Gusain and Abhinandan Vohra collected four points each to share the lead in the 24th Chandigarh Chess Championship held at St Xavier’s School in Sector 44 on Friday. Tarini Goyal was closely following them with 3½ points. The Chandigarh Chess Association will selected four players to represent Chandigarh at the national challengers championship to be held in Bhopal from October 12 to 22.
Kundu makes city proud
CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh taekwondo team was accorded a welcome perfrmance after their superb performance in the senior national championship held at Imphal (Manipur). Sandeep Kundu,an employee of Chandigarh Police,claimed gold in the championship. He has earlier won gold in Commonwealth Games,South Asian Games whereas he was a quarter-finalist in Asian Games held in 2010.
