Art Attack!

It’s a hub for creative endeavours,one that will give every child a chance to imagine,create and look beyond the usual. Dikshant International School now has a dedicated art and craft studio,where students will learn pottery,sculpture,design and printing,craft work,woodwork,painting and sketching. “We must help children achieve their full creative potential,our education must focus on nurturing every child’s creativity. There’s a critical role of imagination,discovery and creativity in a child’s education and I believe there should be no limitations. When children are open to new ideas and experiences,they can create anything in their lives,’’ quipped Mitul Dikshit,Director of the School. Heading the studio is Bibekanand Kapri,a sculptor from Shantiniketan,who wants to unleash children’s creativity and build figurative,relief sculpture carving,using materials ranging from stone,wood,fibre and metal. Students will be able to engage in any part of the building process,from conception and design,pattern and mould-making,to finish work. The studio has a section which will teach students wood work,design and printing of textiles,painting and various mediums of craft work.

“It’s so impressive to see different mediums of art that students are being introduced to. There is something so magical about children when they are thinking and working creatively. Once children learn to express and execute their personal visions in art,they can become empowered in ways that go far beyond the walls of the art and craft room,’’ smiled renowned artist Viren Tanwar,who inaugurated the Art and Craft studio at Dikshant.
