PU professors present papers in Switzerland
CHANDIGARH: Dr Jyoti Rattan,Assistant Professor in Law,Department of Laws,and Dr Vijay Rattan,Professor of Public Administration,both from Panjab University,presented their paper at the International Congress of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) on the topic A Critical Analysis of Administration of Information Technology Regulatory Authorities in India: International and National Legal Prespective. at Lausanne,Switzerland.
Mumbai doctor to inaugurate PGI session
CHANDIGARH: Farokh E Udwadia,Emeritus Professor of Medicine,Grant Medical College and JJ Group of Hospitals in Mumbai and a renowned academician and author will inaugurate the new academic session of PGI on July 16. He will address the new residents who have joined PGIMER for the new academic session. The topic of his address will be Academic Values and Other Perspectives of Medicine.
Meena Prabhakar is new GGDSD College principal
CHANDIGARH: Prof Meena Prabhakar took charge as the officiating Principal of GGDSD College,Sector 32 on Thursday. She brings vast experience as she has been the Vice- Principal and Registrar of the College since 1995. She also heads the Music department of the college. Prof A C Vaid was heading the institute who was recently appointed as Pro V-C of Appejay University.
First convocation of IT group of institutes
CHANDIGARH: The IT Group of Institutes hosted its first convocation on Wednesday at ICSSR Complex,Panjab University. Jagat Guru Shankaracharya Jyotishpidhathiswar Swami Madhavashram Ji Maharaj of Badrikashram was at the occasion. He stated that requirement of a honest human being is the need of time and only they can one gain success. Guest of Honour,Dr Rajneesh Arora,Vice Chancellor,Punjab Technical University said that India is not a political state but a cultural and spiritual state and our unity is bound because of spiritual leaders like Jagat Guru Shankaracharya.
Theatre groups protest non-inclusion in event
CHANDIGARH: Some theatre groups in Chandigarh on Wednesday expressed disapproval for not being selected for a theatre event. A 10 day event to mark 150 th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore is being organised by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Tagore Theatre Society. No notice was issued for us to apply for the event. The teams were selected by the Director of Tagore Theatre himself,” said a theatre artise. The members of different theatre groups want auditions held for all teams. Kuldip Sharma,Director of Tagore Theatre,however,said there were so many theatre groups in the city and it was not possible to give a chance to everyone at one go.
