To clear the air Jatt Airways has nothing to do with any airline,air travel,air hostess,or airport,not even a runway. According to its director,Harjit Singh Ricky,its a romantic comedy that has everyone on the run and caught in hilarious situations. The film revolves around two sisters who want to marry two brothers. It is here that things get mixed up, says Ricky,who gives a sneak peak into the film that will release in February 2013.
With his last film titled Sirphire doing decent business at the box office,Rickys trying his hand with the Punjabi flavour of the season romcoms. The genre began doing rounds while we were making Sirphire and so we decided,why not keep the next film in the same genre, says Ricky,who adds that the title of the film was suggested by singer-turned-leading man,Alfaaz. Getting Alfaaz also translates into extra mileage for the film. Singers in Punjab already have huge fan following, reasons Ricky. Making a debut with this film,Alfaaz has had the acting bug for a while now and decided to make his entry with the most saleable character in the market today the Jatt.
The fact that Neeru Bajwa is the reigning queen of Punjabi film industry,doesnt bother Joshi. Everyone has a different graph. My aim is to do one or two projects a year,and try new roles. I am not into networking or vying for the 100 crore club. I dont even have a secretary. I just go with the flow, says Joshi,who jumped from being an athlete to a science student to films. The industry is changing and there is good work and availability of good films, says Joshi. For her,how a film pans out is a directors vision. She adds that because cinema is a great medium,she wants to create something substantial and meaningful in its realm in the near future.
