62-year-old killed in accident near Panchkula

A day after two cousins were killed in a head on collision between motorcycle and a Swift car,another motorcyclist was killed on Monday morning near village Moginand,on Panchkula- Yamunanagar highway.

A day after two cousins were killed in a head on collision between motorcycle and a Swift car,another motorcyclist was killed on Monday morning near village Moginand,on Panchkula- Yamunanagar highway.

The deceased was identified as 62-year-old,Lajja Ram a resident of of Yamunanagar and was presently residing residing in a rented accommodation at Mullanpur in Mohali. Lajja Ram,was working as a Patwari in DLF in IT Park.

Police said the accident took place at around 9.30 am when Lajja Ram was on way to his office from Yamunanagar,and was hit by a fast moving Innova car which was coming from Panchkula. He was critically injured and shifted to the General Hospital,Sector 6 where doctors declared him dead on arrival. “The car owner abandoned his vehicle and fled from the spot,” said a police officer.

Police has registered a case in the Chandimandir police station against an unidentified driver. The body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives after the postmortem at the General Hospital.

On Sunday,20-year-old Sandeep and his 19-year-old cousin,Amit,were killed in a road accident at Naggal,village near Barwala,when there motorcycle collided head-on with a Swift car. The driver,involved in the accident,is also at large.
