Two Much

It was the author-backed role that made Alagh jump at the opportunity. “Yes,I’m doing this show and I play the main lead. Why would anyone deny the role which was once played by none other than Hemaji? I think it will be a great challenge; I couldn’t have let go of this opportunity.”

Earlier Mouni Roy was to do the main lead but she was then replaced by the gorgeous Alagh. “I’m not allowed to comment on her exit,” she says. It’s also a fact that she is the channel chief Sameer Nair’s sister-in-law (he’s married to Anjorie’s sister Sawari) and daughter of yesteryear actress Maya Alagh. But the actress firmly denies any involvement of any family relations that helped her bag the role.

So does this mean goodbye to films? Alagh is quick to add,“I enjoy acting. Be it television or films I don’t have a problem. On the contrary if the actor is good the medium doesn’t matter. I have a few films in hand at the moment.”
