Now,a man stabbed by bikers in Keshod
RAJKOT: Even as the Junagadh police claimed to have made a breakthrough in their investigations into Wednesdays stabbing incidents,another youth was attacked by two motorcycle-borne men in Keshod town on Thursday.
The victim was identified as Primal Khumbhai (19). He was stabbed in a hand in the Ambavadi area. The police,however,said the latest attack might not be connected with the previous incidents.
Superintendent of Police Manidersingh Pawar said that on Wednesday,all victims were women,but yesterday a man was attacked. Besides,the description of assailants given by Primal did not match those given by the women victims,he said.
Pawar,who has appealed to the people to remain calm and not panic,said,We are on the verge of solving the case. We have got a couple of leads and there may be some arrests soon.
SOG busts hawala racket in Vapi,seizes Rs 63 lakh from 2 courier firms
Surat: The Special Operations Group (SOG) has unearthed a hawala racket operating in Vapi and Surat and seized Rs 62.92 lakh from two courier firms in Vapi. The police arrested two persons after they failed to show necessary documents.
Sources said Valsad SOG officials conducted raids on two courier firms Arvind Kantilal Patel and R Kantilal situated in Govinda complex in Vapi on Thursday evening after getting tip-offs. The police recovered Rs 53.28 lakh cash from Arvind Kantilal Patel and Rs. 9.64 lakh from R Kantilal courier firm. After learning about the raids,many offices in the area downed their shutters. The police said during interrogation,two youths Rakesh Vyas and Jagdish Patel could not give satisfactory answers,following which they were arrested. The police also called in I-T officials to look into the matter.
