Gohil demands Thackeray’s apology for ‘unsavoury utterances’
AHMEDABAD: Reacting strongly to the “utterances” of Bal Thackeray against Maharashtra-based industrialists investing in Gujarat,Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil today urged Narendra Modi to ask the Shiv Sena supremo tender an apology because it amounted to an insult to the state.
The Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly said: “If Thackeray fails to apologise for his unsavoury utterances,Modi should force his Central party leaders to sever their association with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra.” Gohil said it was sad that “Modi, who always tried to gain political mileage by claiming to be the sole champion of the interests of Gujarat,is maintaining stoic silence over Thackeray’s threats to industrialists coming to invest in Gujarat”.
