Gujarat HC judge is now Patna HC Chief Justice
Justice Rekha M Doshit from Gujarat High Court has been elevated as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court.
Registrar General P P Bhatt said a notification in this regard was received by the Gujarat High Court on Wednesday.
Justice Doshit is likely to be relieved from Gujarat High Court on Friday.
She was elevated to the bench of Gujarat High Court in 1995 as Additional Judge and was confirmed as permanent Judge in 1997.
BJP to decide Modis campaign in Bihar at appropriate time
PATNA: The BJP on Wednesday said it will decide at an appropriate time the issue related to Chief Minister Narendra Modis campaign for the Bihar Assembly polls scheduled later this year. For us,it is not the priority about who will campaign for the BJP in Bihar…we are rather concentrating on development of the state under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and Sushil Kumar Modi, said BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain. Hussain said the issue of Modi campaigning in Bihar will be decided only at an appropriate time and stage.

IIM-A to organise international conference on inclusive growth
AHMEDABAD: The Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad will organise an international conference on inclusive growth in developing economies this December,which will be dedicated to the propounder of Bottom of the Pyramid theory,the late C K Prahalad. The theme of the conference will be Challenges to Inclusive Growth in Emerging Economies.
It will be jointly organised with the Strategic Management Forum,a non-profit organisation with a membership of academicians,managers and administrators.
Apart from management professors from around the world,guest speakers will include advisors to the Centre like C Rangarajan and Sam Pitroda as well as corporate heads like R Gopalakrishnan of Tata Sons and ITC Agri-Business chief executive S Sivakumar.
Katie Prices perfumes off shelves over Indian workers wages
London: Reality TV star Katie Prices perfumes have been withdrawn from the market here following allegations that Indian workers involved in making the bottles were not even paid the minimum wages. An investigative report indicated that Indian workers at a factory in Gujarat were paid 2.05 pounds a day to make perfume bottles for Prices Stunning and Besotted fragrances whereas they should have earned at least 2.25 pounds a day. We have decided to remove Katie Prices fragrances from our shelves at this time while we conduct an investigation, a spokeswoman for Superdrugs,UKs second largest health and beauty retailer,said. On the other hand,Prices spokesperson said production has now been moved to the UK. Following a press report about the production of Katie Price perfume bottles by the Pragati Glass Company,we can confirm that this factory in India is no longer used as a source of component. The production of the bottle,packaging,filling and finishing has been moved from India to the UK and France, the spokesperson said.
Limkheda Congress president robbed
VADODARA: Limkheda Congress taluka president Ghana Bharwad was robbed by unknown miscreants near Amlod village in Garbada taluka in Dahod. The incident occurred when Bharwad was on his way back after fixing an engagement of his relative in Amlod village. He was carrying Rs 84 lakh in gold jewellery and cash,the police said.
A Garbada police officer said: Around 9.15 pm,the accused pelted stones on his Innova,forcing him to stop. They surrounded the vehicle and demanded all the cash and valuables. Bharwad told us in his complaint that about 15 men,armed with clubs,threatened to set the vehicle ablaze if he did not comply with their demands. The police added: The loot included Rs 3 lakh in cash and gold and silver jewellery. The police are yet to make any breakthrough in the case.
Senior revenue official held on graft charge
VADODARA: The Dahod Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested the executive magistrate of the Revenue Department for taking a bribe of Rs 6,000 from a shopkeeper in Piplod near Devgadh Baria town. ACB Inspector S P Pandor said the official,Jagadish Chandra Khamar,had demanded Rs 10,000 from Rashmikant Shah,a resident of Piplod,to renew his shop license. Later,Shah contacted our office and filed a complaint. Based on this,we laid a trap and caught Khamar red handed on June 15 at Shahs shop, added Pandor. Khamar has been booked on charges of corruption.
