Washington Sundar

Tamil Nadu allrounder Washington Sundar, at the young age of 18, was offered the chance to play for India in the T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in March, 2018. The youngster took the opportunity with both hands and went on to take 9 wickets at an average of 15.11 in 6 matches with a solid economy rate of 5.67. His efforts saw him winning the Man-of-the-series award for his performance. Sundar's rise in career started from U-19 level cricket. He was bought by Rising Pune Supergiant in IPL 2017 to replace Ravichandran Ashwin. The off-break bowler impressed with his wicket-taking ability and ensured RPS' ticket to final. In the final, he recorded figures of 3 for 16, in a losing cause for his side.
