The University Grants Commission–National Eligibility Test is a test conducted for determining the eligibility for assistant professor in Indian universities and colleges, and/or for awarding Junior Research Fellowship to Indian students. On the behalf of UGC, the National Testing Agency conducts the exam twice in a year -- usually in June and December months. The result is then released a month after the exam.
