Preetika Rao

Popular as one of the most beautiful faces in the Indian television, Preetika Rao is a household name now because of her role of Aaliya Zain Abdullah well-known daily soap Beintehaa on Colors TV. As a lesser known fact to many, the 28-year-old TV actress is also a journalist and had rejected big Bollywood offers like those of Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na and Aashiqui 2 in order to pursue her academic degree. As a model, she started her career an advertisement for Cadbury Dairy Milk, along with Amitabh Bachchan. After working for several ad campaigns, she went on to do film journalism for Chennai Times, Mumbai Mirror, Bangalore Mirror, Deccan Chronicle and the Asian Age. Later she made her Tamil debut with Chikku Bukku in 2011. However, she had to quit movies for a diploma course in broadcast journalism from the New York Film Academy. She has been felicitated with many awards including the Best Actor award by 23rd Kalakar Awards in 2015.
