Machado boarded the boat from the Venezuelan coast and sailed through the rendezvous point in the Caribbean Sea where she was picked by Grey Bull Rescue’s founder Bryan Stern, who is also a special forces veteran and his team who were already waiting for the leader in another boat.
The two minute video which was released on Friday shows Machado reaching the rendezvous point in the Caribbean Sea and boarding the second boat in the middle of the night. As lights appeared from Machado’s boat which approached the rendezvous point, Stern is heard saying, “That’s them, that’s them, that’s them.”
In the video, Stern is seen helping Machado board the second vessel after confirming her identity, however, the exact moment of transfer remains barely visible due to the darkness of night. “Hi, María. My name is Bryan. Nice to meet you. I got you,” Stern said.
During her meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday, Machado presented her Nobel Peace Prize to the Republican leader and said, “I think today is a historic day for us Venezuelans.”
Accepting the prize, Trump, in a post on Truth Social said it was a “great honor” to meet Machado, calling her a “wonderful woman who has been through so much.”
