Jackie Shroff: A Four-Decade Reign in Indian Cinema Veteran actor Jaikishan Kakubhai Shroff, popularly known as Jackie Shroff, has carved a niche for himself in the Indian film industry over four decades. His career, spanning over 250 films in 13 languages, showcases remarkable versatility and longevity. Launched by Subhash Ghai's Hero (1983), Shroff swiftly became a leading star, delivering consistent hits throughout the 1980s and 1990s. His portrayal of the brooding hero in Parinda (1989) earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor, solidifying his position. Other notable successes include Tridev, Khalnayak, Rangeela, Border, and Bandhan, demonstrating his range across genres. While maintaining a strong presence in Hindi cinema, Shroff has also expanded his repertoire to regional films, appearing in Punjabi, Konkani, Tamil, and Telugu projects in recent years, including Sardar Saab, Soul Curry, Bigil, Saaho, and Jailer.
