He said that it is a “murder of constitution and democracy”. He said the duly elected government was not disturbed for many years, but as BJP came into power, it “gave money and destabilised” the state government. He accused BJP chief Amit Shah of political crisis in Arunachal Pradesh. Echoing similar sentiments, Congress legal cell head KC Mittal said the imposition of President rule in Arunachal Pradesh is totally uncalled for. He added that when the matter was in the Supreme Court, then the Centre should have not interfered. Mittal believed that this is not a constitutional crisis and has been totally made up. BJP leader Siddharthnath Singh, on the other hand, said the Congress just wanted to politicise each and every matter. He said the state government was taking cognizance of the matter and they are taking it seriously.

January 22, 2016 8:00 am

Nepal, Jan 22 (ANI): Three people were killed in southern Nepal on January 22 when police fired on protesters trying to disrupt a rival group's political gathering amid a deepening crisis over a new constitution. They have prevented supply trucks from entering from India and choked the landlocked Himalayan nation with a fuel shortage. Two people were killed at Rangeli, 215 km southeast of Kathmandu, when police fired at ethnic Madhesi activists to stop them from disrupting a gathering organized by the youth wing of Prime Minister K.P. Oli's political party. Eight others were also injured in the firing. It was the first deadly incident in more than a month. The United Madhesi Front, which is leading the protests, wants state boundaries to be redrawn to give their communities more power. The Front said this week that talks with government negotiators that started two weeks ago had become "meaningless".
