Bank Holiday in India 2025: Banks to remain closed on December 26–27 in select cities; Check city-wise list

Christmas 2025 Bank Holiday in India; Full city-wise list: Several banks across India will remain shut on December 26 and 27, 2025, as per the RBI holiday calendar. Check the full city-wise list here.

Christmas Celebration 2025 Bank Holiday in India: Christmas was observed on Thursday, December 25, and will continue to be celebrated in a few Indian cities.

Consequently, banks in these cities will remain closed on Friday, December 26, and Saturday, December 27.

This closure also includes the mandatory weekly holiday on Sunday, which will be 28 December this week, as well as the second Saturday of each month.

These bank holidays are designated under the Negotiable Instruments Act and cover both RTGS holidays and other regional and national observances.

There are 18 bank holidays scheduled for December 2025, according to the RBI’s calendar for the fiscal year 2025. However, there are four more official bank holidays scheduled for December 2025.
