New Delhi/Kolkata, Jan 23 (ANI): Minister of State for Urban Development Babul Supriyo said he did not understand why these documents were hidden from the public for so long. He exclaimed that this is a great beginning and interesting things are coming to the forefront. He added that he is thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for carrying out declassification of files. Supporting the declassification, Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed said Congress also demanded declassification of files and there is no question of being embarrassed. He also said that both Congress and Subhas Chandra Bose's aim was to free India. The party has no problem with it. Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen said that there is hardly any mystery. He added that Netaji's vision of equity and justice is badly needed in all spheres of life. Expressing interest in the files declassified by the Centre, he said it was more important to debate Netaji's life and work than his death.

SIT formed by Kejriwal was non-functional: Phoolka

New Delhi, Jan 22 (ANI): Commenting on the issue of missing 1984 riots file, senior lawyer HS Phoolka on Friday said the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which was formed by the Kejriwal government in 2014, did not become functional as he resigned from his post thereafter. After Kejriwal's resignation, even the Lieutenant Governor did not constitute the SIT. He added that the new SIT, formed last year by the Centre, has no link with the prior SIT and is working properly.
