Amrita Rao: A Career in Film and Beyond Amrita Rao, born June 7, is a prominent Indian actress primarily known for her endearing "girl-next-door" roles in Hindi cinema. Her career, spanning over two decades, showcases a blend of commercial successes and critically acclaimed performances. Rao's debut in Ab Ke Baras (2002) garnered a Filmfare Best Female Debut nomination. Her breakthrough came with Ishq Vishk (2003), earning her the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year - Female. Subsequent successes include Main Hoon Na (2004), the romantic drama Vivah (2006), and the satirical Welcome to Sajjanpur (2008), which won her a Stardust Award for Best Actress.
