A team from a forensic science laboratory was called to the crime scene. It inspected the spot and collected necessary evidence from there.A man killed his sister by slitting her throat at her beauty parlour in Haryana’s Rohtak city on Thursday morning, the police said, adding that he was taken into custody.
According to the police, the murder followed an argument that broke out between Lala and his sister, Maya, 31, over an unspecified issue.
“After the heated argument, apparently in a fit of rage, the man killed the woman by cutting her throat. When a young woman named Laxmi, who worked at the parlour, tried to intervene, Lala attacked her also, leaving her injured too,” a police officer who inspected the spot told reporters.
The police said they were interrogating Lala. They are also investigating what led to the argument between him and Maya.

Maya’s body was sent to Chandigarh’s PGIMER hospital, where an inquest was conducted and the body was kept in the mortuary, to be handed over to her kin. Laxmi, the injured woman, has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred near Mata Darwaza, where the woman ran her Maya Beauty Parlour. She had divorced her husband, according to the police.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Khundia said, “On Thursday morning, at around 10.30 am, the police received information that a woman was found murdered at her beauty parlour.”
Laxmi, the woman who was present at the beauty parlour, was taken to the hospital by people before the police arrived, Khundia said, adding that the police were trying to gather information about her.
“The motive behind the murder will be known only after questioning the accused,” he said.
