THE 84th ANNIVERSARY of the Indian Air Force was celebrated at the National Defence Academy (NDA) on Saturday. Commandant of the NDA, Air Marshal JS Kler, was the chief guest at the traditional cutting of Air Force Day cake and high tea.
An oath-taking ceremony was organised for all the IAF personnel in the Air Force Training Team. Air Marshal Kler administered the oath. NDA is a tri-service military training establishment where Army, Navy and Air Force cadets are trained.
There are about 65 Air Force cadets in every course who are given flying training for 7.5 hours on Super Dimona-powered aircraft over 10 sorties in the final term. The Air Force cadets also get trained in aviation-related subjects, including meteorology, air traffic and flight.
