The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed suspended Bharatiya Janata Party MP Kirti Azad’s plea seeking either a court-monitored SIT or CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in DDCA.

Calling the plea premature, the court noted that the CBI has already begun a preliminary inquiry and needs to be given time.

The high court also said that a SIT probe can only be ordered in rarest of rare cases and not because some union minister is said to be allegedly involved.

Kirti Azad, who is currently under suspension, had been calling for a court-monitored probe into the DDCA affairs and alleged that corruption has left the body in a bad state of affairs.
