Film editor Deepa Bhatia to turn director

Deepa Bhatia, who has edited films like Rock On!!, Taare Zameen Par, Kai Po Che and Student Of The Year is now turning director. The film editor, who is known for her crisp editing, is now busy researching and writing her film.
“I am working on the script right now. It’s too premature to even mention the genre of the film because I cannot say how the story will eventually shape up as it will take another three or four months to complete the writing bit. As of now, I haven’t even thought of the cast or who will produce it. And I would not like to talk about it,” said Bhatia, who has been wanting to direct for a film for a long time but her editing work kept her very busy. And it’s now that she could finally put her mind to it.
