Kannada film director Sandeep A S dies in Bengaluru crash

The 38-year-old Kannada cinema director and actor was killed after his two wheeler rammed into a tree near the Bengaluru University campus

Sandeep A S, a 38-year-old Kannada cinema director and actor, was killed in an accident after his two-wheeler rammed into a tree near the Bengaluru University campus early on Monday.

Also known as Sandeep Gowda, he was a resident of Rajarajeshwari Nagar and had directed a 2010 movie titled “Bisile” starring frontline Kannada actors Diganth and Jennifer Kotwal.

He was set to direct a new film titled movie “Hit Wicket” starring Diganth and Apoorva Gowda in the lead.

Police said Sandeep Gowda was involved in the accident around 3.15 am when he was returning home from a friend’s residence.

“He was heading towards Mysuru Road to reach his residence when his scooter rammed into a tree. He suffered severe head injuries and was killed on the spot,” a police officer said.
