Actor Sundeep Kishan will don khaki for the second time in his career in upcoming Tamil-Telugu sci-fi thriller “Mayavan”, which marks the directorial debut of producer C.V. Kumar.

“I play a slightly short-tempered, realistic police officer. I’m quite excited about the role and I’m really kicked about working with producer Kumar, a man with a vision. We’ve been friends for a long time and it’s lovely to be working together finally,” Sundeep told IANS.

Sundeep had also donned khaki for his Telugu film “DK Bose” which, unfortunately, never saw the light of the day.

He doesn’t consider the police character jinxed after “DK Bose”.

“I don’t believe in such things. As a team, we’re confident about this project and I’m really looking forward to start shooting,” he said, adding that the film is a commercial outing with a sci-fi angle.

The film, which has screenplay and dialogues by Nalan Kumarasamy, also stars Lavanya Tripathi and Daniel Balaji in important roles.

Ghibran has been roped in to compose the tunes.

In Telugu, Sundeep awaits the release of remake of Malayalam film “Neram” and “Oka Ammayi Thappa”.

“‘Neram’ remake has been titled ‘Run’ in Telugu. I’ve completed shooting for it and it should release in March. ‘Oka Ammayi Thappa’ is almost complete but the film will only hit the screens in summer as it involves lot of post-production work,” he said.
