The ‘IT’ sequel is currently slated to open against an untitled Blumhouse Productions project. ‘IT’ became the highest-grossing horror film of all time and has grossed over $478 million worldwide.

Talking about ‘IT’, Indianexpress film critic Shalini Langer wrote, “IT, despite all the horror-film stunts it pulls from then on, and then some, never achieves that same level of dread. That child’s elder brother, Bill (Lieberher), had sent him out that day, and is now riven with guilt and obsessed about finding him down the sewers. He drags with him his friends Richie (Wolfhard), Eddie (Grazer) and Stanley (Oleff). Later, the four are joined by three.”

Ever since it was released, this film, which is named after the eponymous being that likes to terrorise and kill children, has been breaking one record after another. At the United States box office, ‘IT’ accumulated a staggering $117.2m on its opening day. That makes the opening of ‘IT’ the highest for a horror film in the history of cinema and ‘It’ also has earned more than double the earlier record holder, which would be ‘Paranormal Activity 3′.
