Gopal Kanda Sirsa Election Result 2024: Gopal Kanda of the Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP) lost the Sirsa Assembly seat to Congress candidate Gokul Setia. Kanda could get only 71,786 votes against Setia's 79,020 votes. In the 2019 elections, Kanda had defeated Setia by a margin of just 602 votes. Speaking to ANI after casting his vote on October 5, Gopal Kanda had said, "The mood of the people is one-sided here, they are giving their blessings. There is no contest here." Gopal Kanda further stated that the BJP government is going to come into power for the third time in Haryana. BJP’s Sirsa candidate Rohtash Jangra had withdrawn his nomination from Sirsa, a day after sitting MLA Gopal Kanda said he will support the saffron party if it forms government in the state for a third time. Voting took place for 90 assembly seats in Haryana on Saturday (October 5).
