Spotify down for several users across the globe, company issues statement

Several users reported about the outage on social media platform X and later on, Spotify acknowledged the issue on X and said that the company was looking into it.

Audio streaming platform Spotify is down for thousands of users globally, outage tracking website Downdetector reported.

Downdetector, which is known for tracking outages through a range of sources including user reports via Facebook, X, Reddit etc, showed 40,515 affected users of Spotify in the United States.

Spotify said, “We’re aware of some issues right now and are checking them out!” According to Downdetector, 62% of the users reported the problem in the Spotify’s app, 26% reported it in the audio streaming while 11% said they were having trouble on the company’s website.

According to news agency Reuters, in the second quarter of 2024, the number of paying Spotify subscribers rose to 246 million.
