Paul van Meekeren worked as a delivery boy for Uber Eats when the 2021 T20 World Cup was postponed. The Netherlands cricket team has given a good account of themselves at the ongoing ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 with a huge upset against South Africa. The Netherlands also defeated Bangladesh.
One of their players, who is an integral part of the team, Paul van Meekeren, had to work as a delivery boy for Uber Eats when the 2021 T20 World Cup, which was originally scheduled to be played in October-November of 2020, was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Should’ve been playing cricket today. Now I’m delivering Uber eats to get through the winter months. Funny how things change. Hahaha, keep smiling people,” he had posted on X, formerly Twitter, on November 15, 2020.
Now, after his stupendous show at the World Cup, his old tweet has gone viral again. Food aggregator Zomato used the tweet and Meekeren’s photo to post a motivational message. “Dreamers never stop delivering,” Zomato wrote on X. Reposting the tweet, Meekeren wrote, “Always delivering @zomato.”

Meekeren has picked 11 wickets so far in the tournament with best figures of 4-23.
