‘Poisonous education’: Youngsters fail to name ‘Father of the Nation’, video leaves the Internet angry

A video of a vox pop interview with youngsters has caught the Internet’s attention. The interviewer asks several youngsters who the Father of the Nation is, and the responses have irked many social media users. The video was shared by an X user Ashoka Kumar Pandey.

Answering the question, a young woman names “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel” as the father of the nation. Another woman says, “Narendra Modi! Ya woh bhi nahi. Idea hi nahi hai (I have no idea).”

A young man answers saying, “Ambedkar!” Another interviewee comments, “I know this. I can picturise but I just forgot the name.” The next woman replies, “Gujarat, Dilli (Delhi)!”

“Firstly, just speaking English doesn’t necessarily mean that one has some knowledge; secondly, there should be a proper inspection of their schools and teachers,” Pandey wrote on X, while sharing the video.

Shared on July 11, the video amassed over 46,000 views. Social media users slammed the youngsters in the video. Reacting to it, a user wrote, “These children do not seem to have studied in government schools, then they should have known, because the English medium schools with high fees provide very good education, the only useless ones are the children and teachers of government schools.” Another user commented, “Have they gone to any school????”

“State of Vishwaguru Bharat in just 10 years!” a third user reacted.
