LinkedIn, an employment and business-focused networking platform, is often used by people for sharing their achievements, promotions, and fake-humble life lessons.
Against this highly curated display of growth, a person’s Linkedin profile that candidly mentions their career ‘mistake’ is going viral.
On Saturday, a Twitter user Vibin Babuurajan (@vibinbaburajan) shared a screenshot of a person’s LinkedIn work experience. Babuurajan highlighted a portion of this person’s job experience where they described their one year and two months at a fintech company called ‘slice’ as “Made a mistake. Gave it a year to make sure just in case. Moved on.”.
Since then has been revealed that this now-viral LinkedIn profile belongs to Shikha Gupta, the creative director of BlissClub, an activewear brand for women.
Commenting on Gupta’s honest work description, a Twitter user wrote, “I most certainly love this side of LinkedIn.” Another person said, “Love the honesty”.
Minu Margeret, the founder & CEO of BlissClub, also shared this tweet and wrote, “When your creative head not only makes viral posts but is herself a viral phenomenon!! Doing her magic one copy at a time – @ShikhaGupta__”.
Previously in May, another honest LinkedIn post written by a former Meta employee Andrea Guzmán García-Luna, went viral. In her heartfelt post, Andrea spoke about how the looming threat of layoffs and its subsequent financial loss has been detrimental to her and her colleagues’ mental health.
