Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal says young professionals should wear kurtas to office, garners support from netizens

In a recent interview with ANI’s Smita Prakash released on July 8, Ola founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal advocated embracing kurtas over Western attire.

The video on ANI’s YouTube channel, titled, “EP-194 | Artificial Intelligence, Ola Electric, Big Tech Monopolies & Religion ft. Bhavish Aggarwal,” has already gained 2.8K views and many comments.

In the interview, Aggarwal said, “We can be more comfortable in our skin in a kurta, quite literally. Our skin is our clothing, a kind of fashion sense that is uniquely Indian. In my view, the kurta is a very elegant dress. I believe all Indians, especially the younger tech professionals, should embrace wearing kurtas.”

Aggarwal also weighed in on the trend of iconic fashion in the tech industry, mentioning Steve Jobs’ turtleneck and Jensen Huang’s leather jacket. He emphasised that Indian entrepreneurs should embrace their cultural heritage, suggesting that kurtas are not only cool but also stylish for the summer.

Aggarwal also addressed the dominance of Western tech and advocated for more autonomy and data control in AI.
