‘Social change’: Netizens mock educator who proposed to colleague during live lecture

Proposing to your significant other can be both exciting and nerve-wracking. From elaborate flash mobs to heartfelt moments captured in private, social media is swamped by countless proposal videos. Now a video of an online educator popping the question to his colleague during a live lecture has caught eyeballs.

The proposal by Navneet Tiwari, a faculty member at Adda247, came during a session titled Biggest Surprise Reveal. The viral video opens with Tiwari confessing his feelings for Sona. He says in Hindi, “I hope for your support in not just my professional life but personal as well. Support me forever.” He smiles and says even his students are demanding this.

“I don’t know what’s wrong or right. I don’t even want to say something like ‘I like you’ or ‘I love you’. I just want to ask you Sona ma’am will you marry me?” Tiwari said. Replying to the proposal, the woman says, “With all my heart, it’s a yes.”

The video has got more than 555K views on the X platform and prompted several reactions. While a section of netizens jokingly mocked the duo, others wrote that the woman had got uncomfortable.

A user commented, “Starting mein ladki kafi uncomfortable thi (The girl was uncomfortable in the beginning).” Another user wrote, “She felt uncomfortable while he’s expressing and she said yes.”

“Social change,” a third user commented.

Recently, a video of a double proposal during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Singapore won hearts online. It showed a man going down on his knees and his girlfriend popping out a ring at the same time.
