All-rounder Hardik Pandya burst into tears after team India defeated South Africa by seven runs in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final on Saturday. Pandya, who faced booing and trolling during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, shared a heart-warming post after the World Cup win.

The viral video shows young Pandya and his brother Krunal Pandya. “Hum dono ka ek sapna hai ke hum dono bhi Baroda aur India ke liye khelein (our dream is to play for Baroda and India),” Pandya, a teenager then, says.

As the video progresses, one can see Pandya greeting his fans with the tricolour wrapped across his arms at Barbados’ Kensington Oval stadium. The camera then pans to Rishabh Pant who hands over the T20 World Cup trophy to him as Arijit Singh’s Lehra Do plays in the background.

“Just a boy from Baroda living his dream and grateful for everything that’s come his way. Cannot ask for anything more. Playing for my country will always be the greatest honour,” he wrote on X.

Thank you bhai,” another user commented.

“Love how hard work can turn hate into love! A few months ago, you were trolled, but today you made us win! From Baroda to the world!” a third user wrote.

Pandya’s 3/20 was pivotal in the final match against South Africa.
