As the Air Quality Index (AQI) levels worsen in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) states of Gurgaon, Faridabad, and Noida, social media have been buzzing with users sharing photos and videos of the dense smog in their areas.
One viral video, in particular, showed luxury flats invisible amid the thick smog. Sharing the video, an X user wrote, “Can you see the 100 cr flats. Pollution is a social equaliser.”

The video accumulated over 91,000 views, prompting a range of reactions. A user wrote, “The 100 cr flat owners have moved to Dubai or Goa. It’s the poor who are breathing in the poison.” Another user commented, “If I have to breathe that air it’s better if I do it in A 100cr flat.”
“I don’t know when people will wake up and ask for clean air from government,” a third user reacted. “Nature transcends all social and economic barriers,” another user commented.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), out of 38 air quality monitoring stations, 21 observed AQI 490 or above. The national capital registered an average AQI of 492 at 7 am on Tuesday, categorising the air as ‘severe-plus.’ Other areas, including Alipur, Anand Vihar, Bawana, Narela, Pusa, and Sonia Vihar, reported the maximum AQI level of 500.
Gurugram’s district administration suspended all physical classes up to Class 12 until November 23, or further notice. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a ‘yellow’ alert for moderate to dense fog across Delhi-NCR, further affecting the visibility quotient.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi blamed the BJP government at the Centre for its alleged ignorance of the air pollution in North India.
