Days after a 14-foot crocodile was rescued from a residential area in Gujarat’s Vadodara following unabating rainfall, a chilling video of four crocodiles swimming along a river, with one carrying a dead animal in its mouth, emerged on social media.
Sharing the video showing an aerial view, X user Hiten Pithadiya wrote, “Vadodara rains, vishwamitri river and crocodiles.”

Another video showed a crocodile wandering a flooded residential area with a dead dog in its mouth. Sharing the video on X, a journalist wrote, “Every time there is a flood in the Vishwamitri river, crocodiles also come out on the roads along with the water.”

As many as 14 crocodiles were rescued by the forest department and NGO volunteers between August 26 and August 29. Vadodara, which is one of the worst-hit districts due to heavy rain, saw 15 incidents related to crocodiles coming out of the Vishwamitri river.
Earlier, a 14-foot crocodile was rescued from the Kamnath Mahadev temple, 100 meters from the river. Vadodara Range Forest Officer Karan Singh Rajput said that three crocodiles were rescued from the Sama Talav area, two from Kamatibaug, and one each from Varasiya Lake, Makarpura, Sayajigunj, Kamnath Mahadev temple, Ram Bazaar, MSU Department of Zoology, Jalaram temple, Akota police line, Waghodia and Kala Ghoda.
