Doherty also regularly showcases his wealth across platforms
Jack Doherty, a well-known Florida-based YouTuber with a massive online audience, landed in the headlines again, this time for his arrest in Miami Beach Thursday morning. Doherty, who shot to fame in 2017 after his flipping videos gained popularity, now commands over 15 million subscribers on YouTube and millions more across TikTok and Instagram.
According to the Miami Beach police, officers detained him outside a smoke shop just before 9 am, later taking him to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. As soon as the news broke, social media erupted with reactions from stunned fans.
NBC News reported that Doherty is now facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and resisting an officer without violence.
Before the arrest, TMZ noted that the 23-year-old had been live-streaming from a yacht in Miami, sharing his usual high-energy content with followers.

The police said they recovered amphetamine – a medication typically prescribed for ADHD and narcolepsy – as well as less than 20 grams of marijuana. Officers also stated that Doherty resisted them “without violence” as they attempted to take him into custody. His bond was set at $3,500, although officials later stated that it had still not been posted.
Authorities confirmed the arrest took place outside a smoke shop on Washington Avenue in Miami Beach.
With over 15 million subscribers on YouTube, 10 million followers on TikTok, and another 2.8 million on Instagram, Jack Doherty has turned internet fame into a full-scale digital enterprise. His videos rely heavily on high-stakes pranks, bold stunts, and social experiments, content crafted to grab attention and spark reactions.
He’s known for provoking tense situations during his shoots, often stepping back while his bodyguard diffuses escalating moments. Titles like “I got kicked off a cruise” and “I crashed into a cop car” capture his signature shock-based approach.
His girlfriend, influencer McKinley Richardson, frequently appears in his livestreams and videos, further fueling public interest in his personal life. Doherty also regularly showcases his wealth across platforms, another defining element of his online persona.

This latest arrest adds to a growing list of issues tied to Doherty’s content. In 2024, he infamously wrecked his $200,000 McLaren during a livestream after reportedly glancing at his phone while driving in rainy conditions. The incident resulted in his suspension from the streaming platform Kick.
Over the years, critics have also targeted his public pranks, confrontational style, and willingness to cross lines for his views. These antics have helped him grow rapidly, but they’ve also made him one of the more divisive figures in the creator world.
