Search interest in Flipkart and Amazon has surged dramatically, with over 1 million and 500,000 searches respectively in the past 24 hours. According to trends.google, Flipkart saw a 75% increase in search volume, while Amazon registered a 50% rise.

The spike for Flipkart is largely attributed to its upcoming Big Billion Days 2024 sale, which will begin on September 29 for Plus members and on September 30 for all users. Known for offering steep discounts on electronics, fashion, and home appliances, the sale has become a staple of India’s festive season. Teasers indicate special offers, including 5% cashback for Flipkart Axis Bank credit card holders and credit lines up to ₹1,00,000 via Flipkart Pay Later.

Amazon, too, has announced its flagship sale, the Great Indian Festival, set to begin on September 27. The sale will feature deals on smartphones, appliances, home essentials, and more. The platform’s small and medium business sellers will introduce over 9,500 new products as part of the month-long event, with contributions from the Karigar, Saheli, Local Shops, and Launchpad programs.

Both sales are expected to intensify competition as they overlap, aligning with India’s festive shopping spree ahead of Diwali.
