Brands release special videos on Father's DayOn Sunday, social media users woke up to endearing posts honouring fathers as June 16 marks Father’s Day, celebrated annually on the third Sunday of June. On the occasion, several brands released special videos to celebrate fathers.
IndiGo Airlines shared a heartwarming video on X showing first officer Tejasvi Kalyan wishing his father Gurdyal Singh Kalyan, who was on board. The video begins with a shot of Singh fixing his son’s collar. Later, they are seen posing near the aircraft. Wishing all the fathers on board, Kalyan says, “He had worked tirelessly previously, still I see the energy in his eyes when he wakes up! So seeing that, I also get the energy to wake up every day.”
Sharing the video, IndiGo wrote, “Here’s how First Officer Tejasvi Kalyan wishes his father Mr. Gurdyal Singh Kalyan from our OCC team a very #HappyFathersDay.”

Zomato shared a video on Instagram highlighting a common trait in most Indian fathers – not reacting much to their kids’ achievements but celebrating it in their absence. The video opens with a son telling his dad he came first in a chess competition. The dad, busy reading a newspaper, replies with a nod. But later, he could be seen sharing the news proudly with every other person he bumps into. “Who says dads don’t talk much?” Zomato wrote as the caption to the video.

Tanishq, a popular jewellery brand, celebrated how a relationship between a father and a daughter transforms over the years.
From adding names of his wife and kids to breaking gender norms to speaking up for an independent daughter, the video highlights how a father evolves with changing times. The caption of the video read, “Share this with your dad to say – ‘look how far we’ve come.”

Father’s Day was initiated by Sonora Smart Dodd in Spokane, Washington in 1910, to honour her father. She was one of the six children raised by her single father, William Jackson Smart, an American Civil War veteran.
