Blinkit politely declines customer’s out-of-the-box date quest but there’s a twist

‘Sorry, we can’t,’ posted Blinkit on its official handle on X.

Online grocery delivery platform Blinkit found itself in an unusual situation on Valentine’s Day this year when a ‘customer’ placed a unique request alongside his order of flowers and gifts. In a message to customer care, the anonymous individual pleaded for help in whisking his girlfriend away for a date.

“My girlfriend’s parents are not letting her step out today,” the message read. “Can I be your delivery partner for the order?” the customer added. The request, while heartfelt, ultimately went unfulfilled.

The supposed authenticity of the conversation on X came under a cloud when eagle-eyed users caught mismatched timestamps, hinting at a calculated Valentine’s Day marketing ploy.

“Sorry, we can’t,” posted Blinkit on its official handle on X. The incident sparked mixed reactions as some found the customer’s ingenuity amusing, praising his determination to go above and beyond for his love.

Blinkit also shared a screenshot of the conversation. The post has now gathered 1.4 million views and 7.9k likes. One social media user wrote, “not fair, you should help him.” Another said, “Surprise delivery partner – Looks good business idea, poor #Blinkit missed it.” A third sceptically remarked, “To make it look more real, the time stamps could have been slightly varying in minutes :)”
